Genuine WWII US Army OD 7 Duffle Bag. Featuring a shoulder strap, this green canvas bag was larger and sturdier than the Barrack Bag and could be secured with a padlock. Manufactured by Tweedies and dated 1944.

Very good overall condition, complete with shoulder strap. The following name and ASN have been painted on the bag: Hoover, Lloyd G. 33090996.

Lloyd Good Hoover was born on December 26, 1918 in New Holland, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on November 4, 1941. He went on to serve with the Headquarters of the 8th Infantry Division and deployed to Europe from December 5, 1943 to July 10, 1945. He was discharged on October 14 of that year as a Private First Class -- his wife, Eileen McElhatton, whom he met in Northern Ireland, finally moved to the USA with their son in 1946. He passed away on August 17, 1996.
