Soldbuch, Ob. Gefr. Albinus Knöfler, Luftwaffe, Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 6 and Stab., 2. Fallschirmjäger-Division
Extremely rare genuine WWII German Soldbuch, which belonged to some Obergefreiter Albinus Knöfler.
Born on February 16, 1923 in Wickersdorf, Saxony, he joined the Luftwaffe in August 1941.
He went on to serve with various units, including 2. Kompanie, Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 6 from March to June 1943, prior to transferring to the Headquarters of 2. Fallschirmjäger-Division.
Promoted to Gefreiter in August 1942 and to Obergefreiter in August 1943, he was awarded the Ostmedaille (Eastern Front Medal) on October 8, 1942, the Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class) on May 15, 1944, and the Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse (War Merit Cross 2nd Class) on September 18, 1944.
On June 24, 1950, he married some Joan Edna Vockins, a 19-year-old British subject; he passed away on December 24, 2003 in England, where he had been living for years.
Complete and in quite good, used condition.
