Abstract from obituary:
"In 1940, while a manager of Georgia Power's Ashburn Territory, he was ordered at active duty with the 30th Infantry Division. He was Signal Officer of the Division when, in 1943, he was ordered to New Caledonia, South Pacific where he was Signal Officer of the South Pacific Base Command until 1946 when he came back to the United States and was assigned to the Archives Reserves."
