Grenade, No. 69, 1942
Scarce genuine WWII British grenade No. 69 Mk I, bakelite. This percusssion-type hand grenade was filled with a 90g charge. Seeing service with British and Commonwealth forces, it proved to be less effective than other offensive grenades and was soon adopted as an 'artillery simulator' for training purposes. The No. 69 was withdrawn from service after the end of the war.
