First Aid Kit, Field, 1942, Named
Superb WWII German field first aid kit, russet leather. This typical kit includes two separate cases, usually worn by medics in place of the infantryman's ammo pouches. These two leather cases feature manufacturer's stamp DNY and date 1942; they both retain all their straps and buckles and thus make a perfectly homogenous set.
The inner face of each flap retains its label describing the original contents: bandages and medicine as far as the first one is concerned, first aid instruments regarding the second -- both being now empty. The name Leenen was carved under both cases.
