Jacket, Ike, 9th US Army Air Force, named


Nice genuine WWII US regulation pattern Enlisted Men's jacket, chosen by General Eisenhower in April 1944, hence the name 'Ike Jacket'. All original insignias still present: United States Strategic Air Forces in Europe, Sergeant rank stripes, Overseas Service Bars and 'ruptured duck'. A flying personnel insignia, is cliped on the torso, also 3 ribbons of the ETO-MTO Campaign, Air Force Longevity Service et Air Medal, and a US and USAAF collar disc.

The jacket is in perfect condiction.

Label still legible. Size 36L, dated June 22, 1944. 

A name and an army serial number are written inside,  Baldwin, Donald B. 35893659.

He was born on May 28, 1915 in Knox, Indiana, he enlisted in the Army on August 31, 1943 in Indianapolis, he passed away on July 9, 1978 due to health problem, in South Bend, Indiana.
