Nice genuine WWII US regulation pattern Enlisted Men's jacket, chosen by General Eisenhower in April 1944, hence the name 'Ike Jacket'. All original insignias still present: IX Engineer Command shoulder patch, Technician 5th Grade rank stripes, Overseas Service Bars, Service Stripe and 'ruptured duck'. Size 40R. The IX Engineer Command was made up of various units whose main mission consisted in building and maintaining airfields for the 9th Air Force.
The name Bill Walters and service number 33365345 have been handwritten inside. William F. Walters was born in Pennsylvania in 1908 and joined the US Army on April 28, 1942; he passed away in 1986.
