Genuine WWII German medal, Polizei-Dienstauszeichnung.
Created in January 1938, the Police Long Service Award was given in three grades: 3rd Class (eight years of dedicated service to the Police of the Reich), 2nd Class - Silver (eighteen years) and 1st Class - Gold (twenty-five years).
The present medal corresponds to the 3rd Class, bearing the phrase Für treue Dienste in der Polizei and number 8 on the reverse.
