Genuine WWII US anti-vesicant cover in clear and dark green plastic, dated 8 February 1945.
After unfolding, this cover would protect the soldier, along with his weapon and equipment. It was also convenient as an overhead cover in a foxhole or to line its bottom; covers were also used as shrouds in temporary cemeteries. On D-Day, every GI carried two covers with his gas mask.
