Circular, German, Identification of RAF and USAAF Airmen, 1944
Scarce genuine WWII German circular, intended for identification of British and American airmen. Entitled Besondere Merkmale (specific characteristics), the present sheet was published in January 1944 by the Kommandant der Seeverteidigung (High Command of Coastal Defense) for the Pas-de-Calais area, France. Its purpose is to facilitate the identification of RAF and USAAF aircrews who would try to escape capture in case of bailing out or emergency landing.
