Genuine WWII US Army garrison cap for other ranks, featuring the USAAF blue and orange piping. Fits like a size 7 1/5.

A name tag indicates that the present cap belonged to some T/4 J. R. Gallagher. Partial service number G-4406 has been inked on the leather sweatband. 

These details ascertain the fact that the present cap belonged to John Raymond Gallagher, ASN  31174406. Born on September 5, 1898 (or 1900 depending on sources) in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, he joined the US Army on September 2, 1942. He was discharged on July 24, 1945 and passed away on April 28, 1973.
