Packboard, Canadian Army Manpack

Nice genuine post-WWII Canadian Pattern 54 packboard, in shaped aluminum; a wide canvas panel laced on the sides cushions the back. This packboard was made by Pioneer Parachute Company of Canada.

Packboards allowed troops to carry various heavy, irregular loads up to 100 pounds -- wire reels, ammo crates, rations, jerrycans, collective weapons such as machine guns and mortars, medical supplies, etc.

In good, used condition, the present packboard is complete.
