Genuine WWI US M-1910 khaki carrier pack, of the early 'ear flap' type produced until 1914. In good used condition, the present canvas trapeze features the markings of Company F, 24th Infantry Regiment. The lower strap shows signs of use.

Created a few years after the Civil War, the 24th Infantry Regiment was an African-American unit. The regiment deployed to Cuba during the Spanish-American War in 1898, prior to fighting in the Philippines the following year, and later took part in the Punitive Expedition against Pancho Villa in Mexico in 1919.
