Genuine WWII US russet leather holster intended for the M1911A1 Colt pistol, .45 caliber. To be attached to the pistol belt. Issued to all branches of the military -- Army, Navy, Marines... Manufactured by Boyt and dated 1944.

Good, used condition. Complete with hook and leather lace. The following personal details have been handwritten inside: Maj. R.D. Wolcott O-526785 and Pistol #1429474.

The son of a Pastor, Roger Dod Wolcott was born on April 20, 1892 in Batavia, Illinois. He spent many years in China, where he worked as a teacher prior to becoming an inspector and auditor for the Chinese Ministry of Finance; he later became an officer in the US Naval Reserve and pursued a career in internationl business, which led him to visit Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. During the Second World War, he went on to serve in the US Army and deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations. He retired on April 30, 1952 as a Lieutenant Colonel and passed away on August 12, 1959.
