Nice genuine WWII US Navy khaki pressed fiber helmet, a.k.a. 'Pith Helmet'. Introduced in October 1940, this light, colonial-style helmet was intended for warm weather regions and soon adopted by the US Army and US Marine Corps as well.

The present sun helmet retains its original leather liner with drawstring. The following markings are clearly visible inside: USN Cont. N140-62236s-19048B. Name Karl Andreas has been handwritten under the brim.
