Genuine WWII US Army heavy duty canvas cas, desgined for carrying the M9 chemical agent detector kit -- a special device intended for sampling and testing ambient air for gases. The GI had to inject air samples into various tubes holding a reactive solution that would reveal the exact nature of the agent.
