Great genuine WWII US Army regulation Enlisted Men's jacket, as chosen by General Eisenhower in April 1944 -- hence the 'Ike Jacket' denomination under which it soon became popular.

The present jacket retains all its original insignia: First US Army and 3rd Armored Division shoulder sleeve patches with 'Spearhead' tab, US and Artillery collar disks, 67th Armored Field Artillery Batalion distinctive unit insignia, 'Ruptured Duck', Technician 5th Grade rank stripes, medal ribbons (Good Conduct Medal and European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Stars), Service Stripe and Overseas Service Bars. Label still present, dated December 16, 1944, size 36R. ASN 15307242 and name Pettys have been handwritten in the collar.

A full-size Good Conduct Medal, a spare 'Ruptured Duck' and some extra Overseas Service Bars complete this lot.

Ray Rummell Pettys was born on April 17, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio and joined the US Army on July 28, 1942.
