Great genuine WWII US Navy N-3 utility jacket, of the Herringbone Twill type introduced in 1943 for ground personnel, including Shore Parties and Seabees. Size 38.

Contract number NXSX-40678 indicates that the present shirt was produced between November 1943 and May 1944. Name F.W. Emmerson has been inked above the breast pocket, which is adorned with initials U.S.N. Perfect condition, complete with all original buttons.

Frederick William Emmerson, a.k.a. 'Fritz', was born on March 1st, 1909 in Stroud, Oklahoma and joined the US Navy on December 18, 1942. He went on to serve at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina prior to deploying to Papua New Guinea with Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 621. He was discharged as a Chief Shipfitter on November 26, 1945 and passed away on September 11, 1982.
