Great genuine WWII US Army second type winter combat trousers, wool-lined twill, with zippered fly opening and adjustable straps. Tightening of ankles is allowed by snap fasteners. Often worn by tank crews and motorcyclists, the so-called 'tanker' jacket and bib soon became popular with officers of various branches of service, not to mention paratroopers of the 504th PIR, fighter pilots, and sailors of the Naval Beach Battalions on D-Day. Warmer than the A-2 jacket and more comfortable, the jacket was made of the same material as the trousers, featuring the wool blanket type lining. Very good overall condition. All zippers are in working order.
