Helmet, Flying, Winter, Imperial Japanese Army
Amazing and very scarce genuine WWII Japanese winter flying helmet. This light brown leather helmet, adorned with the five-pointed star of the Imperial Japanese Army and lined with faux fur, features two reinforced leather ear cups intended for accomodating the earphones. Original markings and stamp are clearly visible in the right ear cup. The left side of the chin cup shows some ideogram punched in the leather.
In excellent overall condition, the present leather helmet retains its original tightening strap, chinstrap and side loops designed to hold the flying goggles in place -- both snap fasteners in working condition.
