Genuine WWII US Army manual, New Infantry Drill Regulations , printed in April 1941. Dimensions: 4.5in x 7.5in. Complete (310 pages), used condition; Annotations visible on the last page indicate that the present manual belonged to Private Frank M. Hoffman , who enlisted on April 7, 1942 in the Connecticut National Guard. Frank Matthew Hoffman III was born on July 12, 1924 in Waterbury, Connecticut and was inducted in Federal Service on March 16, 1943 (ASN 31328470). He was awarded his 'jump wings' and went on to serve with Company E, 502nd PIR, 101st Airborne Division, parachuting into Normandy on D-Day prior to taking part in every campaign his unit participated in.
