Knife, Trench, M1917, Modifed, MK 2 Blade, with Leather Scabbard, MK 2
Amazing genuine WWI US M1917 Trench Knife, which shows a very interesting modification. The original triangular-section, stiletto steel blade has been replaced with some standard WWII Mk 2 knife blade, without any specific hallmark, while eight notches have been carved in the walnut grip. This 'hybrid' knuckle knife comes in a genuine WWII leather scabbard, initially intended for the Mk 2 knife -- snap fastener is in working order. Great homogeneous set, in quite good, used condition.

Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, which has undergone some interesting modification. A new handle, which was carved from a single piece of wood and then riveted to the tang, provides enhanced ergonomics, while the original lower guard has been replaced with a more attractive brass crossguard; the original blade, particularly sharp, has been preserved. Comes its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, second type, manufactured by B.M. Co. , retaining its bent-wire hook and securing strap -- snap fastener is in working order. Homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.

Nice genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by PAL and hallmarked on guard. The 6.49-inch blade is sharp and preserved. Comes in its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, 1st type, manufactured by B.M. Co . Snap fastener of securing strap is in working order. Great homogeneous set in good overall condition. The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.

Stunning genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Kinfolks, Inc. , hallmarked on blade and featuring the Ordnance Department flaming bomb stamped on pommel. The original leather washers have been entirely replaced with some thin cord, carefully wrapped and stuck around the grip so that it ends in some sort of sailing knot. The blade is particularly well preserved. Comes in its original hookless USM8 bakelite scabbard, manufactured by B.M. Co . The small strap intended for securing the hilt has been removed. Homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Case , hallmarked on blade and showing the Ordnance Department flaming bomb stamped on pommel cap. The Case Compay made more versions of this kinfe than any other manufacturer -- variations included two different blade markings and two guard markings; some had a bent guard and others were straight, whereas the handle variations were smooth, rigged, and grooved types. Comes its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, of the early, hookless type, manufactured by B.M. Co . -- snap fastener of handle securing strap is in working order. Nice homogeneous set in good, used condition.

Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial and hallmarked on blade, which shows some major modifications. The original stacked-leather grip, lower guard and upper guard have been replaced with some custom-made aluminium elements, thus giving the present knife additional lightness and handiness. Comes in its original USM8 bakelite scabbard of the early, hookless type, hallmarked B.M. Co. and on which initials JS have been engraved; snap fastener of the securing strap is in working order; the leather lace intended for securing the assembly to the wearer's leg is still attached to the sheath. Great homogeneous set, in good overall condition.

Genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial , hallmarked on guard and featuring the Ordnance Department flaming bomb stamped on pommel cap. The ricasso, guard and pommel cap show remnants of black paint. Comes its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, manufactured by B.M. Co. and on which number 50 has been painted white. Snap fastener of securing strap is in working order. Homogeneous set in quite good, used condition.
