Great genuine WWII British rum jar, of the stoneware type without any handle, adorned with initials S.R.D. (Supply Reserve Depot). Manufactured by Barker Pottery in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Rum rations were to be issued upon order of the commanding officer or on recommendation of a medical doctor.
Perfect condition. Dimensions: 12.8in x 6.9in. Capactiy: 1 gallon (about 4.5 liters).

The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.
