Rare genuine WWII British Mk III magnetic mine, also known as the 'Clam mine'.
Intended for sabotage purposes, this small time bomb was made up of a black bakelite box fitted with a magnet at each end, designed for containing an 8-oz TNT charge which was to be detonated with a time pencil or an L delay switch -- none of the latter being included in the present offer.
Based on the larger Limet mine, which was intended for being placed on ship's hulls, this compact design bomb was mostly used by the Special Operations Executive and various Resistance movements in German-occupied Europe.
Genuine WWII matchbox, manufactured by Criterion . This Russian brand appeared on the British market in the early 1930s; the early type featured the mention 'Foreign Made', while the late model bore the mention 'Made in USSR'.
This first-type box is full. Mint condition.
