Amazing and very scarce genuine WWII German M40 Fliegerbluse, of the type introduced on May 6, 1940 for Other Ranks of the Luftwaffe. Based upon the jacket adopted in 1935, this upgraded version features two outer pockets in the lower section and two inner pockets in the upper part. The Fliegerbluse remained the standard regulation uniform for all aircrews and non-flying personnel in the Air Force of the III. Reich throughout the whole conflict, including Fallschirmjäger and other ground units.
In perfect condition, this tunic retains all its original buttons, collar hooks and belt hooks. The dark blue color of both the collar tabs and shoulder boards piping indicates that the owner belonged to the Medical Department. All original insignias are still present -- breast eagle, Feldwebel rank stripe (Sergeant) and trade badge on left sleeve.
Ink markings applied on the inner pocket are clearly legible.
