Knife, Trench, USM3, IMPERIAL on Blade, Modified, with USM8 Scabbard, 1st Type

Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial and hallmarked on blade, which shows some major modifications.

The original stacked-leather grip, lower guard and upper guard have been replaced with some custom-made aluminium elements, thus giving the present knife additional lightness and handiness.

Comes in its original USM8 bakelite scabbard of the early, hookless type, hallmarked B.M. Co. and on which initials JS have been engraved; snap fastener of the securing strap is in working order; the leather lace intended for securing the assembly to the wearer's leg is still attached to the sheath.

Great homogeneous set, in good overall condition.
