Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, which has undergone some interesting modification.
A new handle, which was carved from a single piece of wood and then riveted to the tang, provides enhanced ergonomics, while the original lower guard has been replaced with a more attractive brass crossguard; the original blade, particularly sharp, has been preserved.
Comes its original USM8 bakelite scabbard, second type, manufactured by B.M. Co., retaining its bent-wire hook and securing strap -- snap fastener is in working order.
Homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
