Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 936. Original canvas chinstrap with early brass buckle and hook.
Some 2nd Lieutenant rank insignia has been painted on the front of the shell.
Good overall condition. Comes with its rare original cloth-covered fiber liner, manufactured by Hawley, retaining its khaki cotton suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, and plain A washers. A similar rank insignia adorns the outer surface.
Great homogeneous set. The liner is rather fragile and shows signs of wear, particularly on the edge.
