Genuine WWII US Navy M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 302A. Original first pattern canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook. Name Nesser, P.G. and service number 570-22-69have been stenciled in black paint on the shell.
Comes with its rare original cloth-covered fiber liner, manufactured by Hawley, complete with khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, russet leather sweatband, plain A washers, and leather chinstrap (fragile). Some Signalman 2nd Class insignia has been drawn on the front, while name Nesser and mention Ohio have been written at the rear.

Paul Gerard Nesser was born on February 9, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio and joined the US Navy on December 30, 1942. He went on to serve aboard the USS Cuttlefish (SS-171) from November 19, 1943 onwards -- his name still appears on the muster roll in June 1945. He was discharged on February 19, 1946 and passed away on May 8, 1992.

The Code provides additional penalties, including the confiscation of the items used or intended for committing the offence.
