Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 291 A. Original canvas chinstrap with 2nd type metal steel buckle. The hook is missing. The name and officer serial number is stenciled on the strap but hardly readable. Some Colonel rank insignia has been welded on the front.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by International Molded Plastics Inc., retaining its khaki cotton web suspension, russet leather sweatband, and blackened A washers. A Lieutenant-Colonel metal rank insignia is pined on front. The liner shows the insignia of the 7th Infantry Division painted on each side.
Nice homogeneous set, in good overall condition.
