Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front rim seam and fixed loops, manufactured by McCord, shell number 344B.
Original early production canvas chinstrap with brass buckle and hook.
ASN 33941636 and name Ralph Williams have been painted in white on the inner surface of the shell.
Comes with its original liner, manufactured by Westinghouse, which retains its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, leather sweatband, plain A washers, and leather chinstrap (broken); name Ralph Williams and ASN 33941636 have been painted in white insde, while last name Williams has been painted in black capital letters on a white stripe adorning the outer surface.
Some Technician 5th Grade rank insignia (chino) comes along with the present helmet, in good overall condition.
Ralph Monroe Williams was born on June 27, 1925 in Peckville, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on August 24, 1944. He deployed to Europe as a Chaplain Assistant from November 14, 1945 to June 22, 1946, and was discharged six days later as a Technician 5th Grade. He passed away on June 19, 2015.
