Genuine WWII US Army M1 helmet, front seam and swivel loops, manufactured by Schlueter, shell number 247A.
Second-type canvas chinstrap fitted with steel buckle and hook.
Some 1st Lieutenant rank insignia has been painted on the outer surface of the shell prior to being scraped, while laundry number C-9397 has been painted on the inner surface.
Comes along with its original liner, manufactured by Firestone., which retains its khaki cotton web suspension and neckband, leather sweatband, blackened-brass A washers, and United Carr leather chinstrap; a 1st Lieutenant rank insignia has been painted on the front, too.
Nice homogeneous set in rather good, worn condition.
