Lamp, Floating, Survival, Type A-7, 1943
Genuine WWII US Army Air Force lamp assembly, flashlight, floating identification, Type A-7. Standardized in 1942, it was a waterproof black plastic floating identification light intended for use with the multi-man dinghies/life-rafts. The base containing the battery (empty) unscrews and can be pulled out to make the unit longer and more stable when floating.
Well marked, manufactured by Dayton ACME Co. with a contract N° 43-7541-AF, dated 1943.
