Genuine WWII US Army khaki canvas barrack bag, issued in pairs to every GI and generally used as a laundry bag.
Quite good, used condition; name Maurice L. Wakefield and ASN 20730025 have been stenciled on the outer surface.
Maurice Law Wakefield was born on February 11, 1915 in Bonesteel, South Dakota and joined the Missouri National Guard on September 5, 1938 (Anti-Tank Company, 140th Infantry Regiment), prior to being inducted into Federal Service on December 23, 1940. He transferred to Company A, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division and deployed to Europe, where he was killed in action on September 19, 1944. His body was buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Liège, Belgium (plot F, row 9, grave 40).
