Paperweight, Commemorative, P-47 Thunderbolt, with Ribbon Bars

Rare commemorative paperweight, made up of a metal P-47 Thunderbolt fighter and its trapezoidal wooden base.

The latter is adorned with a small plaque bearing mention 'Jug', a common nickname for this curvaceous aircraft, as well as three ribbon bars -- Silver Star, Air Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters and 'V' Device, and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Stars and one Arrowhead.

Dimensions of the base: 4.44in x 6.18in x 2.44in. Wingspan of the aircraft: 4.25in.

A great decorative object, which pays tribute to some unknow fighter pilot's career.
