Great genuine WWII US Army winter combat trousers, of the second type made in wool-lined twill, with zippered fly opening and adjustable straps. Tightening of ankles is allowed by snap fasteners -- the tab of the left leg has come apart.
Often worn by tank crews and motorcyclists, the so-called 'tanker' jacket and bib soon became popular amongst officers of various branches of service -- not to mention paratroopers of the 504th PIR, fighter pilots, and sailors of the Naval Beach Battalions on D-Day.
Warmer and more comfortable than the A-2 jacket, the matching jacket was made of the same material as the trousers, featuring the wool blanket-type lining. Many infantrymen also wore it during the Battle of the Bulge.
Complete and in very good overall condition; all Talon zippers are in working order.
Name R.L. Manville has been written inside.
