Rare genuine WWII US Type E-17 emergency sustenance kit, issued to Air Forces and Navy pilots and aircrews.
The OD 7 heavy duty canvas pouch closing with two Lift-the-Dot fasteners and intended for being attached onto the belt, contains two orange waterproof ethyl cellusose plastic flasks and an ESM/1 signalling mirror -- slightly damaged in the lower part.
The present survival kit likely retais original contents: water purification tablets, enriched chocolate bars, matches in their waterproof case, ophtalmic ointment, razor blades, sterilized gauze pads, adhesive bandages, ampoules of aromatic spirit of ammonia, chewing gum, condoms...
