Nice genuine WWII US Army regulation 'Ike Jacket' of the type introduced in April 1944, which belonged to some Corporal  James M. Bates, Jr. , 301st Troop Carrier Squadron, 441st Troop Carrier Group, 9th Air Force. Excellent overall condition; retains all original buttons and insignia: Airborne-Troop Carrier and 9th Air Force shoulder sleeve insignia, Corporal rank stripes, U.S. and Air Corps collar disks, Distinguished Unit Citation, 'Ruptured Duck', Service Stripe, and three Overseas Service Bars of the brass type. Label is dated June 13, 1944. Size 40R. Two separate inscriptions are visible inside: CAPT G.R. Hewes O-909077  in the upper part, and  PFC J.M. Bates 34809776 301 T.C. Sq . in the lower part. James Morgan Bates, Jr. was born on June 10, 1923 in Birmingham, Alabama and joined the US Army on June 17, 1943. The 6.7-inch blade has been modified in the Bowie style, while some knuckle duster has been welded on the hilt in a fashion quite reminiscent of the M1918 Trench Knife. Used condition; comes in its original shortened OD bakelite scabbard.

Genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, manufactured by Imperial and hallmarked on guard. The Ordnance Department flaming bomb was stamped on pommel cap. Comes in its original USM6 leather scabbard, featuring strengthening pieces consisting of two rectangular metal plates fastened by four rivets, which keep the leather parts together. Fastening of these pieces is also ensured by rivets and a strong sewn seam. Staples reinforce the top of the sheath on which the hilt rests. Snap fastener of securing strap is in working order. The scabbard can be attached onto the M1936 belt thanks to the bent-wire hook. Markings  U.S. M6   Milsco   1943  are clearly visible on the front. Some symbol has been grossly carved on the scabbard -- maybe Greek letter epsilon ( ε). Rare homogeneous set, in quite good overall condition -- hard to find nowadays. Don't miss it!

Rare genuine WWII USM3 trench knife, showing some important modifications. The original guard and pommel cap have been replaced with elements taken from some Wehrmacht officer's sword. Comes in its original USM8 bakelite scabbard of the early, hookless type, hallmarked  B.M. Co. The securing strap has been removed and the tip of the sheath itself is slightly damaged. Nice homogeneous set in quite good, used condition.
