Laundry number P-0529 has been inked inside several times; all front buttons are being kept in place with a safety pin.

Size indications have been inked on the left inner pocket: 43 (back), 45 (collar), 96 (chest), 66 (length) and 64 (sleeves). The breast eagle and the collar insignia are still present. Complete and in perfect condition.

The present jacket, which is in quite good, worn condition, shows a few modifications -- overall length and sleeves seem to have been shortened, while the front zipper has been removed. Two buttons are missing, and the right-hand side tightening strap has come apart.

Standard regulation type issued to every branch of service in most theaters of operations. The left sleeve is adorned with a 5th Air Force shoulder sleeve insignia, embroidered on twill. Some P-47D Thunderbolt 'Razorback' has been painted in the back. Good, worn condition; retains all original buttons -- some of them being damaged -- and Talon zipper is in working order. Shoulder width: 20in.

Great genuine WWII US Army M-1941 'Arctic' jacket, based on the standard regulation field jacket but lengthened to cover the hips. Featuring blanket lining and made in the same cotton twill as the other items in the winter range, this types features buckle and strap adjusters at the side of the waist and across the wrists. Mostly issued to units deployed in the Aleutian Islands and other parts of Alaska, this jacket was also worn by troops fighting in the ETO -- particularly in the Ardennes. Complete and in very good overall condition; the left sleeve retains an Airborne Command insignia. Mention AE-A6367 has been written inside. Shoulder width: 21.25in. Sleeve length: 25.19in.

Genuine WWII US Army M1941 short windbreaker-type field jacket, windproof and water-resistant cotton poplin with flannel lining. Standard issue worn by all services in most theaters of operations. In good, worn condition, the present jacket retains all original buttons and Conmar zipper in working order. Label is missing; seems to correspond to size 36R. This field jacket comes from the family of Private First Class Nile R. Blood , a veteran of Company A, 413th Infantry Regiment, 104th Infantry Division. Nile Robert Blood was born on November 24, 1923 in West Salem, Illinois and joined the US Army on April 28, 1943 (ASN 36746106). He went on to serve with the 104th Infantry Division and deployed to Europe, where he was wounded in action.
