Kilt, Seaforth Highlanders, 1941 + Kilt Cover & Hose Tops, Normandy
Great genuine WWII British Army kilt with kilt cover and hose tops, for enlisted men and NCOs of the Seaforth Highlanders.
This kilt features the Mackzenzie tartan, in use within two Scottish regiments -- the Seaforth Highlanders and the Highland Light Infantry. It is complete with both buckles and retains the manufacturer's label: Kilt No. 2 Seaforth O.R., manufactured in Glasgow by Thomas Gordon & Sons Ltd., dated 1941, size 4; very good overall condition despite a few holes.
The khaki cotton kilt cover is in excellent condition and the War Department stamp is clearly visible. This set is completed by an homogenous pair of bicolor hose tops.
The 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders fought in North Africa in 1942 prior to taking part in the operations in Sicily and mainland Italy in 1943-1944. The unit later participated in the Battle of Normandy in the summer of 1944.
