Great genuine WWII British rum jar, of the stoneware type without any handle, adorned with initials S.R.D. (Supply Reserve Depot). Manufactured by Pearson & Co., Ltd. in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and dated 1939. Rum rations were to be issued upon order of the commanding officer or on recommendation of a medical doctor.

Perfect condition. Dimensions: 12.8in x 6.9in. Capactiy: 1 gallon (about 4.5 liters).

The present artifact comes from a significant collection built up by a Norman collector in the last thirty years.
