Just like the Great War version, the WWII brass titles were worn throughout the conflict when cloth titles were not available.
The regiment's battalions served on various fronts, such as France, North Africa, and Italy. It is best known for providing volunteers to the newly created 10th Parachute Battalion in 1943. The latter saw action at Arnhem with the 1st Airborne Division during Operation Market Garden.
