Genuine WWII US Army Type I standard issue wool blanket, manufactured by Chatham Manufacturing Co.
Contract: April 16, 1942.
Very good overall condition; name Louis M. Jarcho and officer's ASN O-650237 have been stenciled on the wool.
Some rank and name have been written on the label: Capt. L.M. Jarcho.
Louis Morton Jarcho was born on December 12, 1912 in New York City to Belarusian parents and joined the US Army on April 17, 1942 (ASN 32318348). He went on to serve in the Air Corps, was commissioned and then deployed to Europe with 436th Troop Carrier Group, 9th Air Force. He was discharged in October 1945 as a Captain, prior to re-enlisting in November 1947, finally retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force. He passed away on September 19, 2006.
