Great genuine WWII Canadian Tam O'Shanter bonnet, specific to some infantry units of Scottish tradition and intended for being worn with the Battledress.

Manufactured by D.M.C. Cap Mfg. Co. Ltd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1942.

Size 7 ½.

Complete and in perfect condition; retains its original Canadian Scottish Regiment cap badge with approriate Hunting Stewart tartan backing.

Attached to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, this unit, which was recruited in British Columbia, landed on Juno Beach on June 6, 1944 prior to participating in the Battle of Normandy and the ensuing European campaign. Among other exploits, the regiment distinguished itself in the battle of Putot-en-Bessin on June 8-9 against the fearsome 12. ᛋᛋ-Panzergrenadier-Division „Hitlerjugend“.
