Set of Two Albums, 678 Pics, T/3 Allen Crenshaw, Jr., Medic, 546th AAA (AW) Bn., Third Army, ETO

Rare lot of two genuine WWII US Army personal albums, comprising a total of 678 photographs that once belonged to some Technician 3rd Grade Allen Crenshaw, Jr., a Medic attached to the 546th Anti-Aircraft Artillery(Automatic Weapons) Battalion.

Listed in chronological order and showing annotations, these original prints cover the whole service of the above-mentioned GI, from his various training stages in the US to his overseas deployment -- France, Belgium and Germany.

Reaching England in April 1944, 546th Anti-Aircraft Artillery (Automatic Weapons) Battalion landed on Omaha Beach prior to moving forward, providing anti-aicraft protection for the Third Army under Lieutenant General George S. Pattons, Jr. from Normandy to the Ardennes and ultimately Rhineland.

Allen Crenshaw, Jr. was born on June 26, 1915 in Andalusia, Alabama. He graduated in Medicine in 1942, was inducted in 1943 and went on to serve with the Medical Detachment of 546th AAA (AW) Bn., with which he deployed to Europe. He was discharged in 1945 and pursued a brillant career as a surgeon. He passed away on August 21, 2010.
