Interesting lot of four genuine WWII USAAF photographs, taken from March 1942 to January 1945, and in which some 2nd Lieutenant Idellus K. Dye can be seen, alone or with a comrade, in various contexts.
Original prints, on the reverse of which some captions have been written (several formats).
Nice homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Idellus Knott Dye II was born on August 9, 1916 in Elkins, West Virginia. Serving as an NCO in the National Guard, he transferred to the Air Corps in the early stages of the war and was awarded his glider pilot's wings as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1943 (officer's ASN O-437115). He went on to seve with various units and took part in several airborne operations -- Southern France (Dragoon), Holland (Market Garden) and Germany (Varsity). He was discharged as a Captain, and passed away on July 10, 1994.

The Code provides additional penalties, including the confiscation of the items used or intended for committing the offence.
