Genuine WWII US Army Air Forces Pilot and Crew Member Physical Record Card.
Individual card intended for recording the various examinations and vaccinations.
Quite good, used condition; issued in 1942 to some Captain Charles E. Pickering.
The immunization register stapled on the above-mentioned card has been ripped off yet remains present; a separate immunization certificate and a German 5 Reichsmark banknote printed in 1942 complete this lot.
Charles Edward Pickering was born on October 13, 1921 in Gardiner, Maine and joined the Air Corps on May 12, 1942 (ASN 11067987). He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on April 16, 1943 (officer's ASN O-578869), promoted to the rank of 1st Lieutenant in December of that year, Captain in July 1944, and Major in April 1946. He deployed to Europe as an intelligence officer with 99th Troop Carrier Squadron, 441st Troop Carrier Group, 9th Air Force in early 1944 and went on to serve in England, France and Germany. He finally retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, and passed away on January 3, 2001.
