Amazing corpus of original documents related to the service of some Private Firts Class Henry Lawless, Company C, 47th Tank Battalion, 14th Armored Division, who was killed in action in France on January 13, 1945.

The present lot includes, among other pieces, various administrative letters, a large photograph and a few newspaper clippings; some Purple Heart medal which was posthumously awarded to the aforementioned GI completes this interesting file.

Henry Lawless was born on June 5, 1922 in McDowell, West Virginia and joined the US Army on November 30, 1942 (ASN 35642182). He went on to serve with Company C, 47th Tank Battalion, 14th Armored Division and deployed to Europe, where he was killed in action on January 13, 1945.
