Adolph Alfred Balikowski was born on August 28, 1916 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to Polish parents and joined the US Army on August 16, 1943. He went on to serve with the Medical Department and deployed to Europe with 596th Ambulance Company, 430th Medical Battalion. He was discharged on January 26, 1946, and later passed away on October 28, 1987.
