Dog Tags, Cpl. Joseph Winokur, 3704th AAFBU, USAAF, Hebrew, with Religious Amulet
Pair of genuine WWII US Army dog tags, issued to Winokur, Joseph, ASN 33336315, vaccinated in 1942 and 1943, blood type O, Jewish.
Homogeneous set in very good overall condition, retaining its pair of bead chains as well as a rare religious protective amulet, which contains a miniature biblical text -- probably some protective verses, such as Psalm 91.
Joseph Winokur was born on July 1st, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and joined the US Army on September 25, 1942. He went on to serve with the Air Forces, particularly within 3704th AAF Base Unit at Keesler Field in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was discharged on January 16, 1946 as a Corporal, and passed away on May 1st, 1972.
